The Secret Service rented high-end portable toilets at a cost of $7,100 to be used during US President Donald Trump’s 17-day visit to his Bedminster, NJ, golf club earlier in August.

In addition to the money spent to rent the toilets from Imperial Restrooms between August 3 and August 21, the Secret Service also spent $13,500 on golf cart rentals during Trump's "working vacation," according to the review of the agency's purchase orders by the progressive political action committee American Bridge.

"Leave it to Donald Trump to find a way to spend thousands of taxpayer dollars on port-a-potty. This man is literally flushing our money down the toilet," said American Bridge spokesperson Brad Brainum.

'He Was Clearly Frustrated': Trump Reportedly Fought Against Anti-Russian Bill
On Monday, USA Today reported that the agency was running out of money to pay its agents, who protect the First Family in the White House and during their frequent business trips and vacations.

Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex" Alles told the newspaper in an interview that more than 1,000 agents had already reached the mandatory caps for compensation and overtime allowances meant to last the entire year.

The agency is currently protecting a record 44 members of Trump's extended family, as compared to 31 during the Obama administration.

Trump has spent nearly every weekend since his inauguration at properties he owns along the East Coast, including his golf club in Bedminster.
