While many people around the world believe that Kim Jong-un is always busy with military activities such as test-firing missiles and visiting nuclear sites, he is in fact a thoughtful leader who cares about his country’s economy also.
The DPRK’s media released a series of images on November 15 showing Kim Jong-un investigating equipment at a tractor factory, test driving one of the tractors and laughing with workers. The new photos are the latest showing the North Korean leader visiting farms and factories.
The leader’s visit to the North Korean factories also coincides with a break in missile firing and similar military activities.
Due to the sanctions imposed on North Korea due to its military activities, the country may now be starting to feel their effects and according to Nam Sung-wook, a professor of North Korean studies at Korea University in Seoul, North Korea’s leadership could be under pressure to limit the impact of these sanctions.
“Kim Jong un has been simply doing what he does best — encouraging his people to achieve rapid economic growth and boost production,” Nam said. “Taking care of the economy and his people are the top priorities,” Reuters reported Nam as saying.
