A 10-second video demonstrating an unusual "life hack" for getting a spare seat on a Chinese train during rush hour has recently emerged online. The footage depicts a man falling down, pretending to suffer something resembling an epileptic attack. Seeing the shaking passenger on the floor, other people hastily moved away, promptly clearing more than half of the carriage at once. After that, the man just got up with a satisfied grin on his face and took a seat.
First posted to LiveLeak, the video has split stunned internet users into two camps. Some netizens accused him for faking the attack and poking fun at those who actually suffer this problem, while others praised him for his "clever" idea.
"Should have remembered that when I went shopping on Black Friday," another one admitted.
But the most of commentators were shocked by the fact that other passengers didn't offer the man any help.
"Act like you need help and people are sure to run away," one person wrote. "Nobody cares that's why they all moved away. He could have been dying and no one would have helped," another user added. "That was not lack of care. That was fear," a third netizen argued.
