"Thanks to the Revolutionary Guards' Navy, the hostile countries are worried before crossing the Strait of Hormuz," Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri was quoted as saying by IRNA on Wednesday.
In addition, the official noted that in the last year the countries had followed the international laws but if they breached the laws, they would face confrontation and controlling measures.

Earlier, Iran threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, cutting off the main oil shipping route, in response to any hostile actions from the US.
The US imposed sanctions on trade with Iran involving the Iranian currency, sovereign debt, cars, aircraft, gold and other metals.
