People are flocking to the streets across France as trade unions call for a new round of protests on 17 December.
The renewed public action comes amid a pension reform brought forward by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Despite public resistance to the initiative, the government announced it would proceed with the reforms stipulating the replacement of the pension system with a points-based scheme and prolonging the retirement age for workers for two years until 64.
Trade unions previously warned that the government had crossed "a red line" by moving ahead with the pension plan.
