People are being evacuated from a former military base in the village of Pugachevo in Udmurtia due to a fire spanning an area of 2.5 hectares and ammunition explosions, a spokesman for the region’s emergency services said.
The video of the alleged explosions has been shared by 5TV on Twitter.
In June 2011, a fire broke out at an ammo depot near the Pugachevo village in the Udmurt Republic, causing stored ammunition to explode. The leftover ammunition has been occasionally exploding in the ground during grassfires since then.
