Trump Will Reportedly Skip Campaign Events Over Weekend, Despite Plans to Hold Rally on Saturday
15:34 GMT 09.10.2020 (Updated: 18:26 GMT 03.11.2022) President Trump, who is recovering from a coronavirus infection he contracted earlier this month, previously said he was ready to continue campaigning if he tests negative for COVID-19.
US President Donald Trump is “unlikely” to resume the campaign trail this weekend in spite of his hopes and will have to postpone the events until Monday, Reuters reported, citing an anonymous administration official.
On Thursday night, the president raised hope that he would be able to go through with his plan to attend rallies in Florida on Saturday and Pennsylvania on Sunday if his doctors determine that he is fit to travel to these states. In an interview with Fox News, Trump himself said that he felt "so good" and hoped there would be enough time to organise a rally in Florida on such short notice.

Trump reiterated he was in good health in a Friday interview with radio host Rush Limbaugh.
"Now I am free, I feel perfect, I am not taking anything. I am off", Trump said.
Trump's electioneering has been temporarily disrupted roughly a month before the presidential vote, as he and his wife Melania tested positive for the coronavirus.
The US president was taken to the Walter Reed Medical Centre to receive treatment on Friday, but after just three days he was discharged from the hospital and is no longer taking most of the prescribed medications.
Trump is scheduled to take another coronavirus test later today to learn whether he is still infected with COVID-19.
