Clashes between police and protesters have erupted in Armenia's Yerevan, a Sputnik correspondent said. Police have started detaining some of the demonstrators who were blocking entrance to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's residence in capital Yerevan. Stun grenades have been used to disperse the crowds of protesters.The protesters approached Pashinyan's residence after they had spent two hours blocking all entrances to the parliament's building. However, the parliament was heavily guarded by riot police, and the demonstrators later decided to march to the prime minister's residence. At least 10 people have been hospitalised from the protest, including seven policemen and three demonstrators, spokeswoman for the Yerevan State University, Shushan Danielyan, said. It's been over a month since supporters of Armenian opposition have been staging regular protests against Pashinyan's policies. His critics insist that his position on the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region and a peace deal with Azerbaijan has betrayed Armenians. Pashinyan has repeatedly urged his opponents to lower their expectations concerning the sensitive issue of Nagorno-Karabakh, stressing that it was his predecessor, Serzh Sargsyan, who signed the Madrid Principles proposed by the OSCE Minsk group in 2010.
