The seventh Eastern Economic Forum kicked off Monday, 5 September and will last until Thursday, 8 September, in the Russian port city of Vladivostok. This year's forum is heavily focused on the role Russia's Far East will play in the changing world order.
Sputnik presents a live feed of Russian President Vladimir Putin delivering a speech at the plenary session on 7 September, the third day of the 2022 Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
In the address that will be aired via video link, the president is expected to touch upon a wide range of pressing global issues, including the state of the Russian economy and tensions with the West. He is also set to speak about how Russia's Far East is developing to be one of the key regions of the country.
Foreign participants, including officials from China and Myanmar and the prime ministers of Armenia and Mongolia, will attend the session. And the prime ministers of India, Malaysia and Vietnam - respectively Narendra Modi, Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Pham Minh Chinh - will participate via video messages.
The seventh Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University campus in Vladivostok. This year's forum has been called The Path to a Multipolar World. The program includes more than 70 business events, which are expected to be attended by representatives from at least 60 countries.

Putin: If Europe Fails to Take Advantage of Cheap Russian Gas, Others Will
VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) - If Europe does not need advantages in terms of cheap gas from Russia, then there are other countries ready to cooperate, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
"Receiving natural gas from Russia, the economies of the leading European countries had obvious competitive advantages of a global nature for decades. If they think that they do not need such advantages, well, it does not bother us in any way because the need for energy resources in the world is very large," Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
Russia is ready to cooperate with any country, the leader added.

International Law Always Breached, But Not by Russia - Putin
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - International law is always trampled on — the war in Iraq, actions in Yugoslavia and the bombing of Belgrade did not accompany UN sanctions — and today Moscow is blamed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, disagreeing that Russia violates any principles of international law.
"International law is always violated. Now many people say that Russia is violating international law. I think that this is absolutely untrue. Who started the war in Iraq without any UN sanctions? Who destroyed Yugoslavia under plausible pretexts, who did it? Who unleashed a war in the center of Europe by bombing Belgrade? No one remembered the principles of international law then," Putin said during a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

Putin: The US Has Undermined the Global Economic Order
VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) - Western countries have undermined the foundations of the global economic order, and there is no more confidence in the US dollar, euro or UK pound, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
"In an attempt to counter the course of history, Western countries have undermined the key pillars of the global economic system, which has been built up for centuries. We see how confidence in the dollar, euro and pound sterling as currencies to carry out payments, store reserves, nominate assets has been lost," Putin said at a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.
The world is gradually moving away from using such unreliable, compromised currencies, the president said, adding that even US allies are cutting their dollar assets.
