Russian Ambassador's Contacts With State Dept. Do Not Happen As Often As Needed - Embassy
The Russian Embassy to the United States confirmed that Ambassador Anatoly Antonov had recent meetings with US State Department officials but added that such contacts do not happen as often as needed as US diplomats tend to deny requests for meetings.

US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said Monday that Antonov has recently had contacts with US State Department officials.

"The State Department spokesperson... does not say everything about the nature of such interaction. Confirming the very conversations of the Russian ambassador that took place, he, however, forgets that such contacts are isolated," Russian Embassy spokesman Igor Girenko told reporters.

"Not always can Antonov quickly fulfill Moscow's instructions. The State Department leaders either refuse to receive him or redirect him to low-level officials," Girenko said.

Too Soon for New START Renewal Talks, US Focused on Russian Return to Treaty - State Dept.
It is too early to begin speaking about a potential renewal of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) with Russia due to the United States being focused on a return to compliance by Moscow after their decision to suspend participation in the treaty, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Monday.

"Before we start talking about what happens in 2026 and a potential renewal of the New START treaty, we want to focus on bringing Moscow back into compliance with the treaty," Price said during a press briefing. "There is a very uncomplicated way for Russia to come back into compliance: it needs to take part in inspections. That’s something that can happen fairly quickly."

Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the Kremlin’s decision to suspend participation in New START amid the US’s support for Ukraine.

Australia to Send Powder to France for Production of Shells Supplied to Ukraine

For example, the Nexter plant in France will produce shells for which powder will be supplied by Australia," Chiva told French broadcaster.
Chiva noted that France had already switched to a military economy, in accordance with the instructions of French President Emmanuel Macron, and would increase the production of weapons and ammunition.
"We are organizing to speed up the production of ammunition. It is true that the situation with raw materials is now difficult, as well as with the localization of various production facilities, especially for the powder.
