As Ukrainian forces suffer defeat after defeat on the battlefield, committing terrorist acts in Russia became Volodymyr Zelensky’s main go-to option to convince his Western sponsors to keep funding the country.
The number of agents Ukraine can employ to carry out these attacks, however, is finite and their ranks are constantly being thinned by Russian authorities who hunt down Ukrainian saboteurs and their collaborators.
The effectiveness of Ukrainian attacks on Russian soil is further degraded by Russia’s counterintelligence expertise, as well as by the locals’ reluctance to collaborate with Ukrainian terrorists.
