Turkish Presidential Election: Erdogan Leading Over Kilicdaroglu as 50% of Ballots Counted

ANKARA (Sputnik) - Incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is currently ahead of opposition rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the presidential election as vote counting continues.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan secured 52.12% of the vote in Sunday’s presidential race versus Kemal Kilicdaroglu’s 42.01%, with 51.39% of the ballots counted, state news channel TRT Haber reported. However, the results of the election continue to change with every minute as more ballot boxes are counted.
Sinan Ogan came third with 5.33%, while Muharrem Ince, who was kept on the ballot despite dropping out of the race on Thursday, came fourth with a half of a percentage point.
Meanwhile, Kilicdaroglu claimed he had taken the lead over sitting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the closely-fought race. "We are ahead," the opposition leader said on social media.
As for the parliamentary elections, the People's Alliance of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) is set to win over a half of seats in the national legislature, according to the Anadolu state news agency.
The AKP-MHP alliance is ahead with 53.2% of the vote, with 51.9% of the ballots counted, which translates to nearly 332 seats in the 600-seat parliament. The opposition Nation Alliance of Kemal Kilicdaroglu is projected to win over 32% of the vote, while the leftist Labor and Freedom Alliance is third with nearly 9% of the vote.

After processing 9% of the ballots, Erdogan was in the lead with 59.47% of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu received 34.79%.
With 15% of ballots counted, Erdogan kept the lead with 56.67% of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu stood at 37.51%
When 25% of the ballots had been processed, Erdogan had 54.27% of the vote, and Kilicdaroglu had 39.75%
After 32% of the ballots were counted, Erdogan had 53.37% of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu got 40.68%.
After 40% of the ballots were counted, Erdogan was leading with 52.7% of the vote, and Kilicdaroglu had 41.39%
After 45% of the ballots were counted, Erdogan had 52.3%, while Kilicdaroglu received 41.82% of the vote.
