Moscow to Respond to Washington If Russian Reporters Again Denied US Visas to Cover UNGA September

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Moscow will seriously respond to Washington if the United States again refuses to issue visas to Russian journalists for trip to New York in September to cover the UN General Assembly session, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Wednesday.

"Once again, we are forced to reiterate that there is a clear abuse of the privilege that the United States has to host the headquarters of the [UN] organization, blatant manipulation of visa issuance to put pressure on other countries, the administration almost arbitrarily determines whose representatives are allowed to participate in the UN events, and who is denied access there... The next case of visa denial to our journalists will not be left without a serious reaction," Zakharova told reporters.
