MOSCOW, March 3 (Sputnik) — National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden will not leak any new confidential materials, Snowden’s lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, said Tuesday at a press-conference.

"He [Snowden] is not going to defame the United States being here, on the territory of the Russian Federation. But what he gave to journalists in Hong Kong still periodically appears in the media," the lawyer said.

Anatoly Kucherena is currently promoting his book, a fictional thriller based on the experiences of Edward Snowden titled "Time of the Octopus," in Moscow.

Former NSA contractor Edward Snowden has been revealing information about secret, illeagl surveillance programs conducted by US security agencies and other intelligence groups since 2013.

In August 2013, he was granted asylum and later a three-year residency permit by Russia. Snowden is wanted in the United States on a number of charges, including espionage and government property theft.
