MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Foreign Ministry confirms death of Russian woman Galina Potapenko during an armed militants' attack in the Tunisia museum, Russian "Rossiya 24" TV channel said Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the Costa Cruises travel agency said that four Italians and a Russian tourist were among the victims of the Wednesday attack in Bardo museum in Tunisia's capital city of Tunis.
"Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that a killed Russian tourist, who Italians [Costa Cruises] reported about, is Galina Potapenko born in 1962, who lived until recently in Italy," the channel said.
On Wednesday, two gunmen disguised as military attacked the Bardo museum in Tunis taking dozens of tourists hostage. More than 20 tourists from Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and Columbia were killed in the attack.
According to various sources, at the moment of the attack between 100 and 200 visitors were in the museum. The captives were freed later on Wednesday in a special operation that left a Tunisian serviceman and both attackers dead.
The Islamic State (IS) militants claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
