VIENNA (Sputnik) — EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini will join Iran nuclear talks in Vienna on July 2, the EU External Action Service (EEAS) said Tuesday.
"The High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini will travel to Vienna on Thursday 2 July 2015 for talks on the Iranian nuclear issue," the EEAS said in a statement.
P5+1 group of international negotiators, comprising Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany have been in talks with Iran since 2013 to reach a comprehensive agreement on Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
On April 2, 2015 the sides reached a breakthrough political framework agreement with Iran in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The P5+1 international mediators and Iran decided earlier on Tuesday to extend talks on comprehensive nuclear deal until July 7 as the previous deadline expires at midnight on June 30.
