MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A man whose pickup truck collided with a limousine, killing four and injuring five, pleaded not guilty on charges of driving while intoxicated, local media reported Sunday.
Steven Romeo, 55, of Southold in New York’s Long Island, is being held on $1 million bond, or $500,000 in cash, after being arraigned at his hospital bedside, according to the Southold Local.
Three of the eight women in the limousine were killed on the scene, while the fourth died in hospital. The limousine driver was also injured in the collision.
Police have identified all the victims and released their names.
The publication cited a Suffolk County assistant district attorney as saying the bride was among the survivors.
Southold Local reported Romeo had been previously involved in an industrial accident last year that killed a worker.
Romeo is due to appear in court on Friday, according to the publication.
