The current situation in the Middle East; the existing balance of powers in the world; conflicts of opinions in the media space; the role of Russia in global politics; the changes to the world of mass media that have occurred over the past decade as well as the role that the mass media today plays in discovering solutions to sensitive issues – these and other important political issues will be discussed during the conference.
The speakers at the event will include Ken Livingstone, former Mayor of London; Cyril Svoboda, former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic; Patricia Villegas, head of the TeleSUR pan-Latin American TV network; and Michael Flynn, former director of the US Defense Intelligence Agency.
"Ten years is a short time for an international TV news channel. Most of our competitors have been broadcasting for decades, but despite this "age gap" we have managed to beat them in key broadcast markets, as well as become a leader in the Internet space where the most heated battle for viewers is currently being waged," RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan.
"RT’s success shows how tired the world is of the one-sided narrative, and how great the demand is for an alternative point of view. We will discuss all of this, along with the realities of our constantly changing world, at the RT Conference on December 10,” she added.
The conference will be held at the Metropol Hotel Moscow on December 10, 2015. The conference’s program and other information about the event can be found on the official website.
