Dane Confirmed Positive for Zika Virus Upon Return From Latin America
07:40 GMT 27.01.2016 (Updated: 08:04 GMT 27.01.2016) A Dane, who has returned from a trip to South and Central America, tested positive for the Zika virus, a hospital in Aarhus, the second-largest Danish city, said in a statement.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the statement, the patient with a fever alongside headache and muscle pain was diagnosed with a Zika virus infection upon return to Denmark.
"On Tuesday night, a Dane was found infected with the Zika virus at Aarhus University Hospital," the statement read.

As the Zika virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes that do not live in Denmark, there is no risk of an outbreak of the Zika virus in Denmark, the statement read.
The mosquito-borne disease has raged in South America and other regions for several months.
On Tuesday, the World Health Organization’s regional office for the Americas said in a statement that over 20 countries and territories of the Americas have reported cases of the virus since May 2015.
