MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Sputnik.Polls, 72 percent of the French public believe that Turkey is turning a blind eye to the operations of Turkish illicit traders who are buying oil from Daesh in Syria.
The survey was conducted in the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States by Populus, a renowned British research firm, and in France by Ifop, the French Institute of Public Opinion, for Sputnik news agency and radio.
In response to the statement, "Turkey is actively fighting terrorist groups such as Daesh," 59 percent of respondents in France answered in the negative. In Germany, those who agreed exceeded those who did not agree — 26 and 36 percent, respectively. In the United Kingdom, opinion was divided equally on 23 percent both in favor and against, and in the United States 30 percent agreed and 17 percent disagreed.
Daesh is a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in many countries, including Russia.
