NEW YORK (Sputnik) – Trump has previously stated that Washington should have better relations with Moscow in order to defeat the Daesh terrorist group, banned in range of counties, including the United States and Russia.
"We will use military, cyber and financial warfare and work with any partner in the world and the Middle East that shares our goal in defeating terrorism," Trump said on Thursday.
Moreover, Trump stood by last week’s remarks that US President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton had played a major role in facilitating the rise of Daesh, by their policies of overthrowing established governments across the Middle East.
"[Clinton] and Barack Obama unleashed ISIS [Daesh], whether you like it or don’t like it, whether you want to hear it [or] don’t, that’s what happened," Trump said on Thursday.
Clinton's campaign has dismissed Trump's claims, calling them false and also rejecting the accusations against Obama.
The militant jihadist group known as the Daesh overran large areas of Syria and Iraq in 2014 amid an ongoing civil war in Syria. The group is responsible for a range of major terrorist attacks carried out in various parts of the world, including Europe.
