ISTANBUL (Sputnik) — On Saturday, Russia used its right for veto in the UN Security Council to block a French draft for a resolution on the ceasefire in Syria's Aleppo. On Sunday, French President Francois Hollande said that residents of Aleppo had become victims of war crimes and urged to punish those who were behind them.
"I have not seen any lawsuits and I am not going to play any guessing games," Lavrov said.
Earlier in the day, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said that Paris would turn to the ICC for a consultation on an investigation into the war crimes possibly committed in Syria.
Aleppo has become a battleground for government forces, jihadists numerous militant groups, including Jaish al-Islam, Ahrar ash-Sham and Jabhat Fatah al Sham, formerly known as the al-Nusra Front, banned in Russia.
