Ukraine to Pay Nearly $95Bln to External Creditors by 2037 – Finance Ministry
07:03 GMT 19.10.2026 (Updated: 10:39 GMT 19.10.2026) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Ukraine will owe foreign lenders $94.7 billion for servicing and repaying its external public debt over the next decade, according to a payment schedule from the Ukrainian Finance Ministry analyzed by Sputnik.
The ministry regularly publishes a
debt payment schedule, which includes only those payments that the ministry has added to the payment calendar. It does not reflect the full amount of Ukraine's public debt, which had reached $215.6 billion as of the end of August.
Ukraine's payments on the principal will amount to $66.6 billion by the end of 2037, according to the payment schedule. Debt-servicing costs will rise to $28.109 billion.
Ukraine's donors from the "coalition of the willing" have driven the country into a catastrophic situation by destroying its statehood and economy, Russian parliamentary speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"The 'coalition of the willing,' including the United Kingdom, France, Germany and their satellites, did everything to put Ukraine into this grave situation by destroying its statehood and economy," Volodin said on Max.
Vladimir Zelensky is trying to persuade his allies to give Kiev more money, Volodin said. However, no European country understands where it is going, while their own economic problems continue growing.
The "coalition of the willing" will demand its money back, which will be paid by many generations of Ukrainians to come, Volodin noted.
"The 'coalition of the willing' will ... demand repayments. Many generation of Ukrainians will have to pay them. With such debts, Ukraine is doomed," he predicted.
Ukraine is due more than $6.5 billion in debt payments next year, while its budget deficit stands at $41.5 billion and the debt-to-GDP ratio at almost 100%, Volodin added.
Russia has repeatedly warned that the West is prolonging the conflict and hindering its diplomatic resolution by financing and arming Ukraine.
