The unknown type of viral pneumonia, currently labelled 2019-nCoV or Novel Coronavirus, was first reported in Wuhan in late December and has since spread to 122 countries.
The World Health Organisation has declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. By 13 March, the total number of confirmed infections worldwide had surpassed 140,000, with a death toll of more than 5,000. More than 69,000 patients have recovered from the disease.
