Every year on October 24, Russia celebrates Spetsnaz Day, honoring its Special Forces Units. The origins of the Spetsnaz can be traced back to a directive from the Minister of Defense of the Soviet Union of October 24, 1950, which called for the establishment of 46 separate special purpose companies.
Russia's Spetsnaz is an elite group of soldiers known for their exceptional training, discipline, and capabilities. They are often tasked with the most challenging missions, which can range from reconnaissance to counter-terrorism operations. Their importance lies in their ability to carry out specialized operations that regular troops might not be equipped or trained for. Their expertise in guerrilla warfare, deep reconnaissance, and sabotage makes them invaluable assets to the Russian military.
The Akhmat special unit, named in honor of Akhmat Kadyrov, is a highly esteemed and elite force within the Russian military. Known for its exceptional training, unwavering dedication, and valor, this special unit has a reputation for accomplishing extraordinary missions.
The Akhmat unit has displayed remarkable bravery fighting Ukrainian troops, in addition to undertaking bold missions to protect innocent civilians, secure critical infrastructure, and neutralize threats posed by the enemy.
This unit established the Akhmat Special Forces reconnaissance school in the special operation zone, teaching fighters from different units how to operate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
