Israeli Strikes on Lebanon Kill 26 Medics Since March 2 – Lebanese Health Ministry
The Israeli strikes on Lebanon left 26 medical workers killed, over 50 injured since March 2, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Saturday.
"The total number of medics killed from March 2 to today is 26, with 51 injured. This clearly shows the enemy's [Israeli] violent actions," the ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) spokeswoman Kandice Ardiel said that the UN mission came under fire in southern Lebanon, which injured one peacekeeper.
"Last night, one of our positions near Meiss ej Jebel was hit, likely by heavy machine gun fire. The impact caused a fire, and one peacekeeper on his way to the shelter was lightly injured. We have launched an investigation," she said on X.
Overnight from Friday to Saturday, 12 medics died as a result of an Israeli strike on a medical center in southern Lebanon.
On Friday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said that the number of casualties from Israeli strikes launched against the country since March 2 had reached 773, with 1,933 others injured.
