"The investigation carried out by Polish prosecutors led to the conclusion that this missile was a Ukrainian missile, even Soviet... Regarding the launch site and affiliation with a specific military group, it was a Ukrainian missile," Ziobro told reporters.
Earlier on Tuesday, the media reported that the Polish investigators had confirmed that the missile was fired by Ukraine. According to the investigators, despite the lack of cooperation with Ukraine which refused to provide any data on the incident, the initial statement of the missile being launched from Russia had been proven wrong.
The report stated that it was Ukraine who fired a S-300 5v55 air defense missile which later fell in Przewodow.
In November, 2022, a missile fell on the Polish territory near the border with Ukraine, killing two people. At first, Warsaw said that Russia was to blame for the incident but later clarified that the missile could have been fired by the Ukrainian air defenses trying to intercept incoming Russian missiles.
The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that no strikes were launched by the Russian forces at targets near the Polish-Ukrainian border that day.
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed confidence that an impartial investigation would expose the provocation.
