MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Units of Russia's Battlegroup Tsentr took control of the village of Sokol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) over the past 24 hours, improving their tactical positions, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) said on Saturday.
"Units of the Battlegroup Tsentr liberated the village of Sokol in the Donetsk People's Republic as a result of active operations and improved their tactical positions," the MoD said in a statement.
In this direction alone, the Russian armed forces repelled five Ukrainian attacks, eliminating up to 415 soldiers and three armored vehicles, including a US-made Bradley, the ministry added.

"Enemy losses amounted to up to 415 troops, three armored combat vehicles, including a US-made Bradley armored vehicle, two pickup trucks, a US-made 155-mm M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, a US-made 122-mm D-30 howitzer, a US-made 105-mm M119 howitzer, and a US-made 100-mm Rapira anti-tank gun," the MoD said.
