"It's actually a proxy war... the biggest supporter is the US," she remarked, suggesting a deeper geopolitical game at play.
"You know, it's like a show for them. I think there was one politician or one expert in the EU who said that it's like a video game for them for some politicians, you know, So, it's unbelievable," Van Den Ende underscored.
"And I remember right after the beginning, I think one or two weeks, there was a peace deal on the table. And I think Ukraine, Zelensky wanted to come and to speak about it, but the US prevented it. So, the US clearly said: 'No, you are not allowed to speak or to make any peace deal with Russia.' And, of course, in the West, they put it the other way around, like they do all the time in their propaganda. It's the media, but it's propaganda. For me, everything you read, it's the opposite," she stressed.
"And I think if we manage to change this, this attitude from especially Western Europe and the US, I think then the people will start realizing that, well, we're just giving money to wage a war, actually, on people. The HIMARS from the US are killing children and women every day. In Donetsk, today or yesterday, a Russian actress was killed. I mean this is what is going on. It's not the battlefield. It's killing civilians," the journalist emphasized.
