MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Ukraine has lost more than 305 soldiers in the Avdeyevka area over the past 24 hours, the Russia Ministry of Defense (MoD) said on Friday.
Over the given period, the Russian armed forces have repelled eight Ukrainian counterattacks in the Avdeyevka region and four attacks near Kupyansk.

"The enemy lost more than 305 soldiers, three armored fighting vehicles and four combat vehicles [around Avdeyevka]," the ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine has also lost more than 300 soldiers in the Donetsk area, the ministry added.

Earlier this month, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that in total Ukraine has lost more than 71,000 soldiers and over 11,000 units of various weapons since the beginning of the year.
