Earlier in the day, the IDF said that it is responding to rocket launches from the Lebanese territory with artillery fire.

Additionally Abdullah II gave directives to "identify the needs of the Palestinians in the West Bank to address them as soon as possible."

"Unfortunately, the prepositioned supplies, which were in seven major hospitals in the Gaza Strip have now been used up," Jasarevic said, adding that the hospitals activated emergency plans on Monday in order to "better manage the surge of causalities."

At least two Israeli air strikes hit the Rafah checkpoint on Tuesday, an eyewitness told Sputnik.

Hamas has launched almost 5,000 rockets since Saturday, the mission said.

The ministry added that international intervention is necessary “to stop hostilities” and find a just solution to the Palestinian issue.

Meanwhile, Haaretz reported that the IDF is in control of all Israeli settlements near the border with the Gaza Strip.

The military is "currently conducting a wide-scale strike" on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, the IDF added.

“We maintain our contacts and participate in all [negotiation processes], but, unfortunately, few formats that are looking for a common basis for a settlement and which do not work very effectively, as recent practice has shown. But nevertheless, we intend to continue to make efforts and play our role in terms of providing assistance in finding ways of settlement," Peskov told reporters.

An Israeli helicopter destroyed a group of Hamas fighters near the border fence with the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said.

The number of Israeli soldiers killed during the ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has reached 123 people, as 38 more names were added to the list on Tuesday, local newspaper reported, citing data provided by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

"In this context, the Republic of Cyprus intends to offer facilities for the repatriation of foreign nationals from Israel through Cyprus," the statement read.

The Israeli army considers the Gaza Strip's parliament and civilian ministries to be "legitimate targets" in its offensive against Hamas, media reported on Tuesday, citing Israel Defense Forces spokesman Richard Hech.

Israel brought hundreds of its military from abroad back to the country so that they can take part in the operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) said on Tuesday.

According to the military, there were no infiltrations in this area on Tuesday, the broadcaster added.
