On June 23, the Ukrainian armed forces launched a deliberate terrorist attack on Sevastopol in Russia's Crimea with five US-made ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) missiles equipped with cluster munitions. Russian air defenses intercepted four missiles. The explosion of the fifth missile’s cluster warhead in midair caused numerous casualties among Sevastopol civilians. Four people were killed, including two children. Dozens more were injured, including 27 kids.
