From October 22 to 24, Kazan city will host the 16th BRICS Summit with the participation of numerous heads of state. A total of 33 countries have confirmed their attendance, including 24 at the leadership level. The summit will conclude Russia's year-long presidency of BRICS, providing a platform for deepening bilateral relations.
On the sidelines of the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and sign a "historic" strategic partnership agreement with Iran. Discussions will also address criteria for potential future BRICS members.
