On November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a retaliatory strike on a Ukrainian defense facility in Dnepropetrovsk, targeting a complex involved in missile production, following Ukraine’s use of American ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missiles. Putin noted that the strikes on November 19 and 21, which hit facilities in the Kursk and Bryansk regions, resulted in casualties, including fatalities, prompting Russia’s decisive response.
As part of the retaliatory operation, one of Russia’s newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik, was tested under combat conditions. This particular launch involved a ballistic missile equipped with a non-nuclear hypersonic warhead. Putin emphasized that the test was successful and that the missile hit its intended target.
